Family owned and operated since 1981

Drawing on over 40 years experience in the sales and manufacturing of carpet, Charles O’Connell partnered with Elmer Ruhe to form Magna-Dry in 1981.  They operated out of Charlie’s basement and began to clean carpets in the Greater Cincinnati area.   Charles, largely as a result of the expertise he had gained in the care of carpets during his career, chose the Ultra Dry Cleaning System for use by Magna-Dry because it cleaned carpets more thoroughly and was less destructive than other systems. 

   Operations steadily grew and Magna-Dry moved to 10800 Commerce Drive in Fairfield, Ohio and expanded their service area to include Dayton, Middletown and Hamilton.  Charlie’s son, Tim O’Connell, joined the business in 1990 and Elmer Ruhe retired in 1992.  Magna-Dry now does both commercial and residential carpet and upholstery cleaning within a 75-mile radius of Fairfield.
